ACA'2010 Applications of Computer Algebra

Note: In its meeting on Friday, July 26, 2008, the Senate of the University of
Vlora decided to create the 'Institute for Mathematics and Computational
Sciences" (IMCS) which will be located in the 5-th floor of the new building
in the main campus. One of the main sections of the Institute will be
Computational Algebra.
Proposal for organizing ACA 2010
Dates: Any time between April 15 -- June 30, 2010 (Hotels are more
expensive in Vlora during July and August). Perhaps last week of June would
be appropriate.
Hotels: We have a dorm with 60-70 beds that we can get and of course
many hotels are available in Vlora. We can bargain that the price of a 5 star
hotel during that period to be 40-45 euros (if we reserve in blocks).
Funding: We will cover the cost of the dorm/hotel for all the participants. In
addition, we will cover the cost of travel for all ACA-WG members and
session organizers up to 500 Euros. We do have funds for such things. If
other funds will be available we will try to cover costs for all participants.
Activities: Vlora is # 1 tourist destination in Albania. We will organize trips to:
- National park of Llogara
- Butrint (World Heritage Site)
- Kanina Castle
- Boat trip to the cave of Haxhi Aliu
- Banquet (There will be a banquet for all the participants. The cost
will be covered by the University of Vlora)

Travel: For international travelers there are two main ways to get to Vlora:
- Through Tirana International Airport (University of Vlora Vans will pick
up and drop everybody)
- Through the Port of Vlora which is only a few hundred meters from
the University
